VOM was established in 1922 by Sudan United Mission- British Branch by Dr Percy Barden, a Medical Doctor, Engineer, and a Pastor who with his wife were passionate to meeting the health needs of people of Vom, Nigeria, and many from other African countries! The Hospital now belongs to the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) which is also the proprietor of Karl Kumm University in Vom will soon be opened.
The hospital is located on 50 acres of land with 7 wards which have a capacity for 300 in-patients, including a children's ward, adult medical and surgical wards, and a rehabilitation center. Also a guest house, and a table water production unit.
Other services include HIV treatment, tuberculosis, laboratory, diabetes mellitus/hypertension clinic, sickle-cell disease clinic, pharmacy, chaplaincy, amenity, and national/state health insurance. We also do Medical outreaches to surrounding villages.
